In order to provide a great experience for all participants under the best possible security methods while surrounded by a great environment, we expose the event’s rules.
I. GENERAL ASPECTS
I.1 GRAN FONDO 500 by Eddy’s Bikes is a long distance massive cyclist event, which will be organized by categories based on each participant’s age, they will be timed via chip and the organization will offer multiservice stations with supplies, mechanical assistance, medical assistance and restrooms.
I.2 GRAN FONDO 500 by Eddy’s Bikes, reserves the right to admit, revoke the inscription, disqualify or expel any participant either by infringing the established rules or by any other act which can be considered relevant and can be done by any of its representatives, staff, judges or participating authorities.
I.3 The participant is perfectly aware of the risks of participating an event of this magnitude, which makes them the only responsables of having excellent health conditons which will allow him to participate in this event safely, as well as having a medical expenses insurance to cover any accident or health problem they may present, demarcating GRAN FONDO 500 by Eddy’s Bikes, Eddy’s Bikes, their sponsors or participating authorities, as well as its representatives or collaborators, of any legal responsibility.
The event has a limited availability of 2500 participants and there are no refunds or transfers under any motive.
II.1 Disqualification: Sanction in which the participant will be counted out of the timing and awarding without the right to any refund or medal, but will be able to continue and finish the ride.
II.2 Expelling: Maximum sanction in which the participan will be counted out of the timing, awarding and will have to immediately abandon the event, without the right to any refund or medal.
II.3 Recommendation: No sanction implied, but we will be very grateful for your support.
II.4 Any situation in which the sanction isn’t specified will remain under the organization’s criterion depending on the magnitude of the fault in which the participant has incurred.
III. PACKAGE DELIVERY
III.1 Package delivery will take place a day before the event from 12:00 to 18:00 in Av. Américas 400, Local 34 in Plaza Santa Ana, Boca del Río, Veracruz #94298 and will be delivered exclusively to the corresponding participants, which will need to present a copy of their official valid identification with photography (INE, passport). Packages won’t be delivered to anyone in the established place or past the established time.
III.2 All participants have the obligation of wearing their identification elements such as the wristbands on the right arm, jersey numbers, helmet numbers (on the front part), bike numbers (on the seat post) and chip as well as any other element the organization suggests.
III.2 Do not use or share any of the previously mentioned identification elements, it’s a motive of event expelling without any refund.
III.3 Wearing the event’s official jersey during the whole route is obligatory and doing the opposite is a motive of event expelling without any refund.
IV. DURING THE ROUTE
IV.1 The correct bike for this event which is allowed without any restriction is the bike classified as “route bike” (no bars or aero bars), however, you may perform the event using another type of bike under the following restrictions:
*” PERSONAL AID VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED”.
IV.3 Helping another cyclist by pushing or pulling is not allowed and will be a motive of disqualification.
IV.4 The use of hard helmet is obligatory.
IV.5 Zig zags, sudden stops without warning, verbally or fisically attacking anyone as well as any other inadequate behavior, are forbidden.
IV.6 The organization may use vehicles to aid cyclists which may be running behind the time limit to reach the goal, either by mechanical, physical or any other kind of reasons.
IV.7 Cyclist that did not sign up for the competition may not ride with the platoon.
IV.8 Loitering during the ride or in the multiservice stations will be a motive of expelling.
IV.9 The route will use streets, avenues and highways, therefore the laws and transit rules will need to be respected, as well as the signals and indications of the corresponding authorities. Not doing so may end up in transit fines and sanctions from transit itself independent from the organization.
IV.10 Abandoning a crashed cyclist is a crime, if you see another cyclist in an accident or in trouble, please assist him and try to communicate with the event’s staff or authorities. It could happen to a family member or even happen to yourself.
IV.11 Participants must show education and respect towards the organization, staff, volunteers and authorities, otherwise they will be exposed to being disqualified or expelled from the event.
IV.12 Every competitor’s start line will be divided by corrals, which will be organized according to each cyclist’s level.
IV.13 After crossing the start line, a determined, controlled speed will be maintained. All cyclists must try to stay inside the group of their assigned corral until the official start.
IV.14 If the competitor doesn’t cover the complete corresponding route will be disqualified.
V. OFFICIAL JERSEY
V.1 Wearing the event’s official jersey during the whole route is obligatory and doing the opposite is a motive of event expelling without any refund.
VI.1 Avoid using offensive language and having a disrespectful behavior during the event, help us have a pleasant environment for everyone.
VI.2 Don’t use bottles inside the amphora holders that aren’t amphoras (special containers for bicycles). They may slip out of the holders and cause an accident.
VI.3 Always carry a basic repair kit with yourself.
VI.4 The closer you ride to your right, the safer you’ll be.
VI.5 Don’t use earphones or any of the sort, it’s very dangerous and you won’t be aware of a lot of things happening in your surroundings.
VI.6 Use daytime lights, a red one in the back and a white one in the front. They’re almost as important as wearing a helmet.
VI.7 Use cycling glasses and gloves.
VII. IMAGE RIGHTS AND INFORMATION
VII.1 Once the participant signs up, it is completely allowed for the event’s organization to use and/or reproduce in any media, their name, last names, pictures, images, videos, voice, comments, etc. For their exploit, promotion, publicity, etc. Either in direct, derivative or any other form.
VIII. EVENT SUSPENSION AND CANCELLATION
VIII.1 The organization reserves the right of changing the event’s established date due to force majeure with a minimum of 30 days of anticipation.
VIII.2 Similarly, the organization is allowed to cancel the event 30 days prior to the established date, for which a refund will be made to every competitor.
VIII.3 The event makes every participant aware of possible event cancellation due to climatological phenomena or any other situation that implies the competitors’ safety. Civil Protection or any other authority may decide to cancel the event prior to the established date or suspend it the same day of its realization, for which the organization won’t be responsible of said cancellation and therefore, participants won’t have the right to get a refund.
IX.1 Signing up for the event implies that the competitor has read all the event’s information, as well as the rules, meaning that they agree and accept in every means all the established information.
IX.2 The rules may be modified partially or totally under the organization’s criterion.
